LIZ x NICOPANDA
The Exclusive Premiere of Cross Your Heart (The Mixtape)
The First Lady of Mad Decent, LIZ, has teamed up with Nicopanda to power her new mixtape, Cross Your Heart, featuring an exclusive fashion editorial and 33 minutes of previously unreleased music.
As mutual lovers of all things east-meets-west, LIZ and Nicopanda conceived an audiovisual collaboration organically, together honing that sweet spot where fashion and music seamlessly intersect. The five-part fashion editorial and Cross Your Heart mixtape artwork are styled exclusively with Nicopanda’s F/W 2016 collection—now available online—and visually complement LIZ’s saccharine brand of Y2K pop.
“I've always had an element of fantasy to my music and visuals, and this next era is going to be more wild and experimental than ever,” LIZ says. “I feel like my music represents today's modern girl— blending multiple genres that have come out of different movements to create a concoction perceived today as ‘mainstream pop.’ Nicola Formichetti has been a seminal influence to pop stars over the last decade—driving pop culture forward—so I was very honored to collaborate with Nicopanda. With Cross Your Heart, I’m excited to be sharing a taste of what's to come in the near future.”
Cross Your Heart teases what LIZ has been working on throughout the past year, including her most recent Henrik the Artist-produced release, “Wild Target,” and Grandtheft’s remix of her 2015 SOPHIE-produced single, “When I Rule the World.” This 16-track project sees LIZ working alongside some of today’s most prolific music producers, including Lido, Branchez and King Henry—the co-producer behind Justin Bieber’s hit single, “Cold Water”—and features a guest verse from Chicago rapper Vic Mensa.
